Medieval II Total War Campaign Chronicles

Small question, how many of you would like to buy DVD with one series of the Chronicles with video at the resolution 512x384 and a far better quality instead of the current 320x240? Meaning it would look far better then the current one videos online.

I ask because some peoples told me a long time ago that they would be interested.

I personally think that would be a good idea, but a lot of people would probably just keep watching online.

Well, i don't actually gonna buy that DVD, sorry. But if you make one you should put somekind of extras in it

yeah, that's why I ask, I want to see how many would be interested, if not many, well I won't bother making anything, but if many are interested, well I might take the time of making something interesting. I will need to learn how to make all that in an acceptable format

i would definateley buy it, but u would have to fix up ur gammar mistakes ie. 678 TURK 897 enemies
Just add an S on the end of turk so its 678 TURKS and u r ready to go =p

hehe, well I would probably not fix those mistake, fixing it would force me to put a high price because of the time cost in time it would take me.
Or to push back any release of a potential dvd in 6 month. Holding at the same time the production of any new videos until those dvd are ready.
You should have warned me earlier! =)

I wouldn't buy a DVD of the chronicles. Sorry. But....

I have been thinking about audio commentary or something that can give interest, but of course it very much depend the number of people interested.

Hmm... I really like the audio-commented videos. And why distributing them per DVD? Providing them by bittorrent might be an idea (okay, you still need quite a few people who actually seed it).

dvd allow to watch on tv, it also allow to keep them and watch them when you want without having to download.

well as far as I know (what a community manager told me) Video games "are member of the Public Domain"

"Public domain comprises the body of knowledge and innovation (especially creative works such as writing, art, music, and inventions) in relation to which no person or other legal entity can establish or maintain proprietary interests within a particular legal jurisdiction. This body of information and creativity is considered to be part of a common cultural and intellectual heritage, which, in general, anyone may use or exploit, whether for commercial or non-commercial purposes."

The way I see it, video games are like Photoshop, you can use them to create thing you sell in the same way as long as you don't duplicate the application itself and sell it or distribute it.

Basically If you buy a DVD what you buys isn't a video of a game, it's of video of my knowledge in that game and knowledge worth a lot by itself. (just think how my video could have make any of you win the 700$ prize of the competition lately).

That sounds quite a good idea. IF you had some sort of audio commentary, maybe some guides etc. I might consider buying it. Ideal pirce I would put at around £5 ($10). HAve you thought about how you'd distribute it. myabe think about cafepress? meh, just my two pennies worth.

yeah legal stuff is really annoying indeed. But they also protect us... For exemple I have owner right on my videos, so people cannot take them and use them without my authorization. (in theories)

As for crusade I must say I rarely fought them, In general I use to block them with ship near Constantinople. The only time I actually fought crusader was with Sicilian, and the battle crashed... arrrggg =)

As for the price and distribution Sandafluffoid I would most likely cost more the 10$ because 1 chronicles will probably be multiple DVD. Those chronicles last longer then any movie you ever saw! ;)
As for the distribution, I will consider the option in the future depending the show of interest.

Well when it crashed there was 4 crusader army from 4 factions, might have been the cause, I didn't fought any other crusade since them...

Happy my video helped you also =)

the dateyourgame crew could make machinima accompanied with your videos, I can guarantee it would be a bestseller

Anonymous said...

you should publish a book instead, about your experiences, amateurs everywhere would be reading it: The Date Your Game Everything Guide to the Total War series. but still, a DVD full of movies is still an okay idea.

Attila said...

yeah that's the kind of thing i have and will consider
