Medieval II Total War Turkish Chronicles 21 Hold and Run Again

Here is a battle that followed the previous one in the same turn. So this is my retreating army, once again under attack. That time I lost most of my army, but it cost half of the enemy army to do that, so it's a fair share. The impact of this defeat was that the enemy leaded his army toward my territory to siege a city.

Prety nice demostration of meaning of high ground. The odds were like 2½ against 1 and still you were able to kill half of enemys army!

You know you should try luring the enemy into an ambush get your best pikmen and attack them from all sides

Well I would ambush them if I had an army. But my armies are busy on the Europe front and I don't plan to bring them on the Mongols front. So the troop I have on the Mongols front will have to deal with Mongols alone and they can do it.

Dear Attila:
As I saw your hit and run videos I wanted to know one thing:
You say you attack with your missile troops until out of ammo, but, the mongols also have the best horse archers(the best cavalry in the game) and decent missile infantry,so,:
Didn't you lose a great amount of troops with that hit and run tactic?
Also, their horse archers have armour so I think that it should have taken a lot of time, troops and ammo to decimate a single unit.
Oh,and one more question:
How can I make to get to the new world and fight the aztecs??
Merci.

Good questions Jean Luc,
I do lose some missile troop indeed, But the main reason why I retreat is that in melee battle my close combat units would simply run away, and that would be worse then losing troops at long range fight. =)

I will engage my armies in melee when the enemies won't have that many elite troop like he currently have.

The important thing you need to know is that my troop can be recover quickly since they are "normal". But Mongols armies come will very experience troops that none of my troop can win against. So every Mongols soldier I kill worth 10 of my soldier in skill. So as I lose battle I weaken them, and they won't recover from it. I do recover from what I lost in a turn.

As for your aztect question. after the year 1400, you can build better port and build ship that can go to the new word. But you must explore the path to this new world with those ship =)
