Rome Total War German Chronicles 42 The end of the Senat. Part 3

Here is the Siege of Rome.

I think what is interesting to learn from the video is my strategy to use siege towers. I first sent a tower to my Left, giving it the time to deploy on the wall, and attract the enemies away from the gates. By doing so my second tower I sent near the gate can capture the gate without any fighting. But in the current battle. eliminating the defender on the wall was the priority. After that the cavalry can take care of the rest.

Small note. Many people asked, how the hell did the enemy general Died? Well it might be a little fast to notice but I captured an enemy tower while fighting on the wall. And enemies tower, once captured, shoots at the enemies. So the general was just under that tower and got kill.

I know many people like to destroy the walls and towers, but based on my experience the best way to siege is to do the least amount of damage. The first Reason for that is that, everything you damage, you will pay to repair them. That's money that doesn’t go into the army. Also, when you capture enemy towers, they shoot back at the enemies. Walls can also allow you to deploy your archer very effectively against the defenders. Etc.

But the enemy general died of a heart attack, not by anyones hand. Trianinghopper told me that you head striaght for the general, he must be wrong.

in this siege, the enemy general was kill by a tower as explained in the text. So maybe traininghopper was speaking about an other battle =)

good battle like the way you used your bazerkers on the wall. yep the general was kill by the captured tower.

attila do find it a bit of an disadvantage to have anything bigger than a stone wall, i do as when the enermy are seiging me they build bigger towers with ballista's on the top. like when your tower weaken that roman legion alot,

yeah those ballista tower are really powerfull. So sometime it's a good idea not to build huge walls. Wall also slow down the enemies making the siege longer...

thats true hehehe i like what they have done in MTW2 three rings of wall that will be very hard to get to centre.

yeah, It will be a challenge. But I wonder if we will have to bring the battering ram inside the walls or will be able to destroy the gates with infantry like in medieval original...

I also wonder if we will have to bring ladder inside to walls...

that would be a big risk to bring in the ladderin if the enermy still hold the gate or attact them while there still bring it in. this might make the game more enterning and changing have they improved the IA. i would prefer to use the battering ram and not the troop for realism. connot wait for the 10

well i don't know if they improved the AI.

AI is the kind of thing that developper developpe but it's soo complexe that sometime it work great and other it work horrible... so hard to say.

By the way where you from chris?
